Hi there, thank you for taking the time to get to know our staff! I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself and my views on providing your pets with the best veterinary services in Chapel Hill.

I came to Australia with my parents at a young age. I grew up in Indooroopilly, all the way until graduating with my Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland in 2013. Following graduation, I worked in the Northern Territory, ACT, Victoria, NSW, and overseas in the UK, before returning to Brisbane in 2019. Brisbane is my home - it’s where my family and friends are, and I wish to serve the local community that I grew up in.

I have an interest in soft tissue surgery and small animal dentistry. I’ve seen good dental and oral health make dramatic improvements in the quality of life for many of my patients. I will always do my best to deliver you and your fur baby the best of care.

Outside of work I enjoy travelling, learning new things, and making peace deals with my cat, Zephyr, to let me keep him indoors. If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment, feel free to give us a call on (07) 3620 2010 or use our online booking portal!

Zie

Veterinary Nurse

From a young age Zie has had a passion for caring for all animals, big and small. In 2009 she started her career working in a local pet store before moving on to begin vet nursing in 2016.

She has a passion for all aspects of general practice, from bonding with patients and clients to assisting in procedures and surgeries. Zie has two fur babies of her own – a 13 year old staffy named Dude, and a 1 year old cat named Bow. Dude loves being with people ALL the time. It doesn’t matter if it’s just watching TV or going for bush walks – he’ll be there! Bow just thinks he’s one of the dogs.

Elena

Veterinary Technician

Elena has been working in the veterinary industry since 2018 and completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Technology at the University of Queensland in 2019. She has wanted to work with animals since she was 5 years old and is very proud she made that dream come true.

She loves harnessing her passion and using her knowledge to provide exceptional standards of care to our animal friends and their owners (that’s you!). She also has special interests in birds and fish - if you ever have any questions about bird or fish care, she would be more than happy to have a chat!

Elena enjoys the company of a 15 year old Toy Poodle named Bonnie and her betta fish, MJ. Outside of the clinic you will probably find her hanging with her friends, pets, and playing video games.

Shuang

Veterinary Nurse

Shuang is an energetic vet nurse with a great passion for animals – as she simply puts it “I love working as a vet nurse because I love animals”. She loves looking after patients, nursing them to good health and seeing them go home to their families.

Shuang is a mum to four cats and one dog. She is warm and generous and will often have foster cats over at her home, until they find a forever family.

Outside the clinic, she loves listening to jazz music and reading novels with her fur babies. “Spending quality time with them is a real treat for me”.

Growing up, Peter has always had a great love for wildlife and small animals, which led him to begin studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology at the University of Queensland in 2018. He loves to help take care of our patients and clients alike, using his practical experience and laboratory studies to provide the best experience for everyone.

When Peter is at home he enjoys reading and loves spending time with his lovely cat, Olive. Peter also fosters wildlife and helps to look after his friends’ puppies and dogs.

Ella

Veterinary Nurse

Ella is a Veterinary Science student at the University of Queensland, set to graduate in 2024. She grew up in the forests of Brisbane, surrounded by animals - from sheep to ducks to chickens to dogs.

She has always been an enthusiastic environmental advocate, having spent much of her time before starting uni volunteering at sanctuaries such as Lone Pine. Ella is passionate about wildlife and conservation, but still has a soft spot for her own animals.

She spends her weeks at Gatton, but loves nothing more than to come home on the weekends and explore Mt Coot-tha forest with her Standard Poodle, Cleo.

Leanna

Receptionist

Leanna brings her love for animals to Chapel Hill Family Vet as one of our veterinary receptionists while she studies toward achieving her Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland, which she is thoroughly enjoying.

Leanna grew up in South Korea and came to Australia to pursue her childhood dream of being a veterinarian. Her love for animals grew as she volunteered in animal shelters and worked at a cattery in both South Korea and Australia. She loved being able to help and care for animals big and small.

Leanna loves to get to know all our clients and their fur babies to make them feel comfortable and at ease.

Clara

Receptionist

Clara has always been passionate about animals and their care. This desire to help and work with animals determined her career path, beginning with Biological Science at the University of California Santa Cruz, and now Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland.

Clara has been fortunate to work with and learn from many knowledgeable people. She volunteered for a couple of years, working with marine mammals and exotic birds, growing her passion for animal care.

She has worked at an emergency clinic back home in California, and is very excited to meet you and your pets! Last year she adopted her own dog - he is a 6 year old German Shorthaired Pointer named Buckshot, currently living back home with her family. When she’s not studying or working, you can find her hiking, swimming, and finding more ways to work closely with animals.
